Gold Award Winner at London Design Awards 2026. Re:ADY B's flagship bag.

This is Re:ADY B's flagship bag, a Gold Award winner at the London Design Awards 2026. It is a one-of-a-kind handbag, crafted from luxurious obi sashes, such as Nishijin-ori, that have served their original purpose. These sashes are combined with a brass handle featuring an arabesque pattern, hand-carved piece by piece by Kuninobu Yoshida, a fifth-generation craftsman inheriting the tradition of Hiroshima Buddhist altar fittings. The sewing is meticulously handled by the artisans at Yassa Kobo Nishimachi. This piece embodies the philosophy of "Integrity to Structure," preserving the obi's original pattern without cutting it, thus connecting the past and the future.

Made-to-order, one-of-a-kind / Delivery in approximately 12 weeks (within 3 months)

Re:ADY B is an upcycling brand that revives discarded kimonos and obis, one by one, through the hands of Type B employment support workshops and traditional craftspeople in Hiroshima.
Recipient of the Gold Winner award in the Fashion Design (Handmade) category at the London Design Awards 2026.

Shipping & Delivery

Free shipping within Japan. International shipping is charged by destination region and product type, and the exact amount is shown at checkout. Duties and import taxes are also collected at checkout, so there is nothing to pay on delivery.

In-stock pieces: dispatched within 2–5 business days of payment confirmation.
Japan: 2–7 business days after dispatch · International: 7–21 business days after dispatch.

Made-to-order pieces & tailoring vouchers: production begins once payment is confirmed and takes approximately 12 weeks. For tailoring vouchers, the 12 weeks are counted from the day your fabric reaches us. For the OBI Bag with “Choose from whole obi”, they are counted from the day the obi is chosen. Shipping time is added after production is complete.

A tracking number is provided for every shipment.

Materials, Sizes & One-of-a-kind Pieces

Every piece is made from vintage kimono or obi, so no two are alike. Because the fabric is cut individually, the colour, pattern and texture differ with each item.

As each piece is finished by hand, there is natural variation in engraving, stitching and dimensions. These are characteristics of the product, not defects.

Product photographs are representative examples; the pattern on the piece you receive may differ.

For exact dimensions or material details on a specific piece, please contact info@sfdesign.co.jp and we will send you the details of the actual item.

Returns & Cancellations

Because every piece is one-of-a-kind or made to order, we cannot accept returns or exchanges based on customer preference (change of mind, sizing, or the pattern differing from expectation).

If your item arrives damaged, or differs from what you ordered, please contact us within 14 days of delivery and we will arrange a return or exchange.

Made-to-order pieces can be cancelled before production begins. Once production has started, cancellation is not possible.

See our Returns and Refunds Policy for full details.
