Fashion hardware parts applying the metal engraving techniques of Hiroshima Butsudan
[Outline of New Products, etc.]
Utilizing the intricate metal engraving and inlay techniques used for the metal fittings of "Hiroshima Butsudan," one of Japan's traditional crafts, we are developing small metal parts for fashion, such as bag charms and handle fittings. Through modular design, these parts can be integrated into fabric and leather materials, and when combined with upcycled obi belts, they will be developed as new high-value-added secondary materials that embody "Japanese culture×sustainability."
Today, only 30% of households are said to have a Butsudan, and demand is expected to continue to decline. By diverting traditional techniques, whose inheritance is at risk due to decreasing demand, to the world of fashion, we aim to create new markets while preserving traditional craft techniques.
